The PADI INTERNATIONAL OPEN WATER DIVER COURSE is designed to prepare you for safe diving.
During the course you will have fun while easily and progressively developing your knowledge and skills so that you may enjoy the natural beauty and splendor of the underwater world in comfort and safety.
PREREQUISITES FOR OPEN WATER COURSE
A You must be 15 years of age to obtain Open Water Certification. However, Junior Open Water Certification can be obtained at a minimum of 12 years of age. This certification is based on the Students physical ability and maturity to understand the concepts of diving and perform the tasks in accordance with the course standards.
B You will require a Medical Examination for SCUBA diving in accordance with AS 4005.1 -- 1992 completed by a Medical Practitioner giving approval for you to participate in SCUBA diving activities, (AS 4005.1 -- 1992 Forms are available from participating doctors)
C You will need to be able to swim 200 Meters non stop, (any style, no time limit), and tread water or float for 10 minutes, (with no aid or support).

On deposit you will be sent in the mail or given your Open Water Crew Pack and loan Video or DVD so that you may start the course straight away.
NOTE: it is proper procedure to have read all the 5 modules, watched all the Video or DVD and have filled in all the knowledge review questions prior to the first class.

Classroom session is held at PARADISE DIVERS, SHOP 2, 253-257 PRINCES HWY DANDENONG.
Pool Training will be held at an Indoor Heated Swimming Pool
Open Water Dives usually take place on appropriate locations around Port Phillip Bay at a place best suited for the weather on the day.
